The Human Body
New statement of Intent
For
my project I have decided to change my directions slightly. I discovered that
photographing the human body was a weird and wonderful thing and thought it
would be interesting to explore the human body. The different shapes we can
make our bodies form. I have researched a few artists which photograph the
human body in an abstract form in order to inspire met to take my own photographs.
I would like to explore different positions and shapes, which will also inspire
the shapes my models will make also. There are various directions which I can
chose to approach my project. For examples researching into how the body has a
link to the atmosphere around us or taking pictures in the studio and altering
and changing the effects to create interesting images.

Edward Weston also photographs the human body; he photographs parts of the human body. He does not photograph the clique full body images, he captures interesting aspect of the body, the shapes t and folds that the body naturally make similar to the shape of pepper. His photographs are generally in black and white with simple backgrounds.
Shoot 5: Body shapes inspired by Edward Weston
Edward
Weston's photographs are generally black and white which bring out the shadows a
lot more. This shows the contrast between the light and the darker areas which
creates amazing shapes and shades .I then went on to Photoshop to experiment
with editing my images. For all of my photographs I changed them to black and
white and then increased the contrast, by increasing the contrast his created a
grainy and noisy picture, however this was my not my intentions, but I was
pleased with the outcome of the picture.
In order to develope my project am going to do some more research into photographers that photograph the body in an abstract form.I wanted to explore and develope my photograpraphs by changing and photographing close shoots, by doing this am able to photography more interesting folds and bends in the body. This will emphasize how abstract the object is.Also explore different body parts.i.e face, ears, knees, feet etc.For my next shoot I would like to photograph different body parts and create interesting images by doing so.
